Date: Thursday, April 20, 2023

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Central Time

Description: Follow your passions and find your purpose! Learn more about Literacy Leadership and Summer Reads, two AmeriCorps VISTA programs of Literacy Minnesota!

We welcome you to come learn about our programs, ask questions, and even sign up for your My AmeriCorps account so you can apply online with our assistance.

With Summer Reads, members serve with children and youth in the Twin Cities Metro and across the state of Minnesota to fight the summer slide - the traditional decline in reading skills that happens over the summer. Summer Reads Mentors participate in traditional tutoring, literacy through enrichment (games, movement, etc.), and other proven methods to engage young people and bring literacy to life!

Literacy Leadership is a yearlong commitment to service and is a "behind the scenes" role. Members of this program serve nonprofits and community organizations in MN (and across the US) to help create sustainable changes with projects that improve literacy services for communities experiencing poverty.

Both programs are excellent opportunities for personal and professional growth. You'll join a community of nonprofit professionals, educators, advocates, and leaders while you build your resume, network, and gain meaningful skills.
