Summer Reads Volunteers
Are you unable to commit to 40 hours/week to national service, but still want to volunteer in your community this summer?

Community organizations, schools and learners in Minnesota are working to build their literacy skills, and one-to-one time is essential. Volunteer your time to make a difference!

Summer Reads Volunteers is a flexible opportunity made for people with busy schedules who want to spend their free time doing something meaningful. You let us know your availability and we'll help find one of our partner organizations to volunteer your time.

There is no monetary compensation for this role. In exchange for your time, you'll be invited to our professional development and events - typically an exclusive perk for our AmeriCorps VISTA members. These robust training opportunities are facilitated by literacy and education professionals.

In addition, you'll join a supportive network of community change-makers, emerging leaders, and literacy education advocates.
