We are no longer accepting applications for Summer Reads 2020. Please check back in March 2021 for information about applying to Summer Reads in 2021.

Twin cities

Summer Reads Mentor (June 15 - Aug 9) Support K-12 children, youth and families in the Twin Cities with distance learning and/or in-person programming (following CDC and Minnesota Department of Health guidelines), creation of resources and learning materials that families can access on their own, mentorship and fun literacy games, food/meal distribution, navigating and accessing community resources, and more this summer! 

Summer Reads Outreach Specialist (June 4 - Aug 12) Fight the summer slide! Use your prior experience teaching/tutoring to provide peer mentorship to first-time Summer Reads mentors who will make a lifelong impact on children, youth and families this summer.

Summer Reads - Fairmont - Fairmont Community Education and Recreation (CER) has offered lifelong learning and leisure opportunities for all ages for over 48 years.  Over the past 7 years, Summer Reads VISTA volunteers in Fairmont have worked with youth, one-to-one and in small groups, to develop lifelong learning habits of reading for enjoyment, while actively engaging youth in learning for their futures.
