Grateful for the People Who Make This Work Possible

April 2026

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and this year, that recognition carries even deeper meaning for all of us at Literacy Minnesota.

In recent months, our organization has gone through a period of significant change. Through it all, one constant has stood out clearly: the commitment, compassion, and resilience of our volunteers.

To our volunteers — thank you. For showing up. For staying. For caring about our learners through a moment that has been hard for everyone. Whether you are tutoring, supporting classes, helping navigate transitions, or simply offering encouragement at exactly the right time, you are making it possible for this work to continue. At a time when things feel uncertain, your presence brings stability, connection, and care.

We are especially grateful for your patience and flexibility as we adapt and rebuild in a more sustainable way. We know this moment has not been easy, and we do not take your continued support for granted.

As we look ahead, we are focused on strengthening our foundation and continuing this work with clarity and purpose. In the coming weeks, we'll be scheduling opportunities to hear from you. Your perspective will help shape how we rebuild.

If you are a current volunteer, thank you. If you have been considering getting involved or are looking for ways to deepen your impact, now is an important time to step forward.

With deep appreciation,

Wendy Berry, Co-Executive Director | Antonio Raquel, Co-Executive Director
