Sophia (Foundations of College Algebra)

• Sophia's Foundations of College Algebra course builds foundational algebraic and problem solving skills needed to succeed in college-level algebra courses. Students will build their understanding of linear and quadratic relationships, and apply these concepts to real world situations through scenario-based activities.

Note: This approval is for the specific Sophia course listed, NOT Sophia itself in the broad sense.

• Proxy Hour Equivalent: Unit completion. This is a pass/fail course. The student must complete 6 Challenge assessments (these are like quizzes) and 3 Milestone assessments (these are like tests) with an overall score of 70% or better. 10 proxy hours are awarded on completion of a module, 25 total can be earned.
• Proxy Hour Documentation: Copies of student reports from data management system.
