Vishnu Namboodiripad

Vishnu Namboodiripad is the VISTA Leader at Literacy Minnesota. He helps organize trainings and peer support for other AmeriCorps VISTA members and will help organize the Summer Reads program. Before becoming a VISTA Leader, Vishnu was a Literacy Leader at East Side Neighborhood Services, an environmental organizer with Clean Water Action, web developer, Spoken-English Teacher in India and stage actor. Vishnu’s experience with teaching English abroad helped him understand the socio-economic power learning English gives people in a globalized neocolonial society. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Society and Environment from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Outside of work, Vishnu enjoys learning the guitar, binge-watching video essays on Youtube, making kombucha, petting dogs and being unimpressed by sunsets.
