My name is Mohamed. I am originally from Somalia, but I grew up in Kenya. I have been in the United States for eleven years. I came to the United States with my family in 2006. I came to the United States not knowing how to speak English because I had not gone to school in my country. Because of the war, it was hard to get educated.  When I came to the United States, I went directly to high school even though I didn't have any previous formal school. It was the hardest year of my life. I had to work hard to achieve my goal. I came to MCTC to get an AS degree in computer forensics because I enjoy helping people and I want to become a technician. I am   graduating the beginning 2020 and now I am halfway done. My favorite hobbies are reading and volunteering. In my free time, I volunteer at Open Door Learning Center- adult basic education. My main role there is helping students with their technology. I am also a teacher assistant in the beginning and advanced ESL classes. I  participate in Open Door Sunday Book Club meetings.
