Meghan Boyle has eight years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults in a variety of settings. She began her ESL career teaching in businesses in Prague, CZ. She has also tutored and taught students of all levels in several local institutions including Normandale Community College, Lao Family Community of Minnesota, Metro North Adult Basic Education and Saint Paul Public School’s Hubbs Center. She currently teaches the literacy level ESL class for adults at the Minnesota Literacy Council’s Open Door--Arlington Hills Learning Center. She holds an MA in ESL from Hamline University, a TEFL certificate from TEFL Worldwide Prague and a BA in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her roots in social work inform her philosophy of student empowerment; she strives to help students develop the literacy and life skills they need to improve their own lives. Outside of work, Meghan’s favorite hobby is to study dance from Guinea, West Africa.
