Leah is the Northstar Digital Literacy Curriculum Coordinator. She joined Literacy Minnesota in 2008. Over the course of her teaching career, Leah has embarked on teaching adventures in Seoul, South Korea as well as at home in Minnesota with Minneapolis Public Schools. Leah has experience teaching ESL to all levels and ages, from Kindergarten through adult learners. She also has experience in curriculum development, volunteer coordination and team teaching. Her experience as an AmeriCorps volunteer in a K-3 reading program sparked her interest in teaching and advocating for literacy. Recently, Leah was a participant in the Minnesota Numeracy Initiative through Hamline University’s ATLAS program. Leah has a B.A. in Anthropology and International Studies from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Hamline University. She holds a K-12 ESL teaching license. Outside of work, she enjoys reading aloud to her son, cooking and listening to music.
