Anton comes to Literacy Minnesota with over 15 years of experience in the education, arts and nonprofit sectors. He has a specialization in hip-hop theatre pedagogy, collaborative community building and applying arts integration techniques into curriculum design and execution. Anton has worked as an educator, consultant and programmatic strategist with the Minneapolis Public Schools, Upstream Arts, Pillsbury United Communities and several other educational service providers throughout the state where he has cultivated and fostered community-centered initiatives and approaches that maximize mission impact. Most recently, he was the Artistic Director and CEO of CLIMB Theatre, a touring educational theatre company that created custom social emotional learning opportunities throughout the Midwest. While at CLIMB, Anton championed and led an organizational restructure and programmatic expansion that maximized organizational potential for mission impact and reach.

Anton has an MFA from the University of Iowa Playwright’s Workshop and BA from Grinnell College. He serves on several education and community boards and councils. Outside of work, Anton coaches a K-8 track team, plays piano and cello, seeks out ways to share his love of The Goonies to all who are willing to listen and works tirelessly to ensure that his three daughters maintain loyalty to the appropriate NFL and college sports teams.

With a belief that access to a diverse array of lifelong learning opportunities are at the foundation of social justice work and the catalyst for social change, he is proud to be a member of the Literacy Minnesota community.
