Therese Badenoch

Distance Learning Coordinator

Therese Badenoch supports students and staff to increase learning opportunities and engagement in and beyond the classroom in her role as the Distance Learning Coordinator for the Open Door Learning Centers. Therese graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a B.A. in Spanish and shortly thereafter spent a year teaching English in Galicia, Spain. Therese’s passion for literacy was sparked while she was managing a restaurant in Soho. After helping a chef with his English to improve staff communications and guest interactions, Therese realized she wanted to continue helping adults thrive in their environments. Therese earned her M.A. in Adult TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at Hunter College in New York City. She has taught various English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at LaGuardia Community College and ESL Works, a New York-based company that strengthens food and beverage industry teams through work-focused communication, where she continues to work contractually. Therese also teaches intermediate-level ESL at Hub@Harding, part of the Hubbs Center in Saint Paul. Outside of work Therese enjoys exploring the outdoors, watching baseball, reading biographies, and planning adventures.
