Sheri Lear

ESL Teacher

Sheri Lear joined the staff of Literacy Minnesota in 2011. She currently teaches beginning level ESL and basic math at Open Door Learning Center – Lake Street. She earned a degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Certificate in Adult ESL from Hamline University. Prior to her current position, Sheri worked as a speech/language pathologist, writer, parent and volunteer. Outside of work, Sheri enjoys skiing, writing and traveling. Having recently become empty nesters, Sheri and her husband escaped the suburbs; they are now appreciating the joys of urban living. A long-time adult literacy volunteer, Sheri is thrilled that she has been able to turn her passion into her career, and is grateful for the opportunity to work with this outstanding organization.
