HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE CHAIR

Jackie Prince has been family-focused and committed to community service most of her life. She was active for many years with the League of Women Voters in Illinois and in Edina. Jackie also volunteered in the schools with the PTA, the Edina Resource Pool, the Edina A Better Chance Program and served on the Southdale Library Friends Board editing their newsletter. In addition, Jackie was a volunteer tutor and trainer for Literacy Minnesota and was recognized with an Outstanding Volunteer award. For many years, while a snowbird in Florida, she worked with predominantly African-American children as a homework helper in an after-school program.  Currently Jackie is active with the Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative and Habitat for Humanity. She enjoys doing some driving and dinner hosting with the Minnesota International Center. Her B.A. is from Carleton College and she has an M.A. in Latin American Literature from the University of Minnesota. Jackie loves traveling, biking, walking and reading, and firmly believes that education is the essential bedrock of a good life: it all begins with literacy.
