Honna is an Outreach Specialist for the Americorps Summer Reads Program. She recently moved back to the Twin Cities from Cincinnati, OH where she worked for family shelter managing volunteers and providing case management support. During her time in Cincinnati, she connected with an educational storytelling non-profit called Bespokenlive. She volunteered with the program director to develop and provide storytelling and mindfulness education to language learning high school students. Through this experience, she discovered that play, connection and story sharing can be helpful tools to support students on their language learning journey! Honna holds a bachelors degree in Theatre/Speech from Northwestern College. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, birding, international folk dancing and cooking.
