Abby Sunde is the Emergency Services Coordinator with the Department of Indian Work, a program of Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul. Her work centers on ensuring clients’ emergency needs are met and connecting clients with community resources to help them build economic mobility. Prior to her work with Emergency Services, she served as an AmeriCorps Literacy VISTA with the Department of Indian Work’s American Indian Youth Enrichment Program. In this role she developed curriculum for youth and saw the impact literacy can make in a person’s life. Abby has undergraduate degrees in Biology and in Environmental Sciences from University of Minnesota – Morris. Outside of work, Abby is an artist and avid traveler. Abby is empowered by literacy and passionate about the self-empowerment that literacy can provide.
